There are many ways to make a rug by hand and many\u00a0<\/span>materials to choose from. Different yarns display different properties\u00a0<\/span>of strength, softness and lustre. Some are smooth and cool to touch\u00a0<\/span>while others are sumptuously soft and warm.\u00a0<\/span>Every one of our rugs is entirely handmade, meticulously knotted,\u00a0<\/span>loomed, tufted or woven by artisans applying ancient techniques passed down through generations. These\u00a0<\/span>different techniques produce a range of different textural surfaces, from fine and flat to chunky and shaggy.\u00a0<\/span>It is a remarkable craft composed of several stages that require\u00a0<\/span>great dexterity, care &amp; patience.
